Al-Bukhariyy narrated that when Zaynab, the daughter of the Prophet, passed away, the Prophet ordered the women who were in charge of washing her to inform him after they were done. When they finished, they informed him and the Prophet took off the izaar that he was wearing and told them to put it directly on her body before putting any shroud.
The Hafidh ibn Hajr said that the wisdom behind the Prophet delaying giving his shroud until they finished washing was so that there would not be a long duration from when the Prophet took off his garment and when she was clothed with it.
This hadith is a beautiful reference for the permissibility of seeking blessings from the Prophet Sallallaahu ^alayhi wa sallam
