Marriage Contracts in Islam

Muslims believe that Islam began with Adam, the first Prophet and Messenger of God, and that it delivered the purest form of knowledge and civil society. The people were taught the various languages, cultivation, minting currency, construction, the institution of marriage, and preservation of life, lineage, mind, money and family, alongside other aspects of their livelihood. All the Prophets beginning with Adam and ending with Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them) came with same religion, but with different with different laws. They all glorified God, the creator of all creations, and they all obeyed his commands and orders.

Marriage is one of the orders that God obligated on his people. Building bridges of mutual trust and healthy intentions with people is an important element in bringing them together. And so according to the Islamic religion, for a couple (Man and Woman) to be together or at least alone must both have a legitimate contract. The contract constitutes the marriage statement and two witnesses, that is:

1.   Two upright witnesses to witness this marriage
2.   The consent of the woman in marriage (with her guardian like father)
3.   A dowry for the woman
4.   And the acceptance of the man to marry the woman

All of this is due in order for that relation between those couples to be mutual and legit. Islam emphasizes on marriage between people to preserve the lineage and to avoid chaos amongst societies.

There maybe other conditions to be met for one to have his contract valid, one must acquire the knowledge to know how to do this properly.

Allah knows best.
