Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the  worlds, and may Allah raise the rank of our Master Muhammad, and protect  his nation from what he fears for it.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brothers and sisters in Islam<em>, <strong>Allah Said in S<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">u<\/span>ratun-Nis<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>\u2019, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A<\/span>yah<\/strong><\/em><strong> <em>64<\/em>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u0648\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0648\u0652  \u0623\u064e\u0646\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0625\u0650\u0630 \u0638\u0651\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064f\u0648\u0627\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0646\u0641\u064f\u0633\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u062c\u064e\u0622\u0621\u064f\u0648\u0643\u064e \u0641\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0652\u062a\u064e\u063a\u0652\u0641\u064e\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0627\u0652 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647\u064e  \u0648\u064e\u0627\u0633\u0652\u062a\u064e\u063a\u0652\u0641\u064e\u0631\u064e \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0645\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0651\u064e\u0633\u064f\u0648\u0644\u064f \u0644\u064e\u0648\u064e\u062c\u064e\u062f\u064f\u0648\u0627\u0652 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u0647\u064e \u062a\u064e\u0648\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0628\u064b\u0627 \u0631\u0651\u064e\u062d\u0650\u064a\u0645\u064b\u0627&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This Ay<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h means:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <em>\u201c <\/em>If when they are unjust to themselves, they come to you and ask <em>All<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h<\/em> for forgiveness, and the Messenger asks forgiveness for them, <em>All<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h<\/em> will forgive them and have mercy upon them<em>.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>consensus <\/strong><\/span>among the scholars that it is <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>sunnah <\/em><\/span><\/strong>to visit the grave of the Prophet, <em>sallAllahu ^alayhi wa sallam<\/em>, both for he who lives in <em>al-Madinah <\/em>and he who travels there for the express purpose of visiting the Prophet\u2019s grave, and doing so is a great act of obedience. <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Qadi<\/span><\/em><em> ^Iy<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ad<\/span><\/em> and <em>an-Nawawiyy<\/em> both reported the scholarly consensus <em>(Ijm<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>^)<\/em> on this issue.<\/p>\n<p>It is <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>sunnah<\/strong><\/span> <\/em>for the visitor to also have the intention to travel to pray in the mosque of the Prophet.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hence, visiting his grave is by consensus a <strong><em>sunnah<\/em><\/strong>. This is due to several religious proofs. One of them is the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th:<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>{ \u0645\u0646 \u0632\u0627\u0631\u064e \u0642\u0628\u0631\u064a \u0648\u064e\u062c\u064e\u0628\u064e\u062a\u0652 \u0644\u064e\u0647\u064f \u0634\u064e\u0641\u064e\u0627\u0639\u064e\u062a\u064a }<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>\u0631\u0648\u0627\u0647\u064f \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0651\u0627\u0631\u064e\u0642\u064f\u0637\u0652\u0646\u064a\u0651\u064f \u0648\u0642\u064e\u0648\u0651\u064e\u0627\u0647\u064f \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0627\u0641\u0650\u0638\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0633\u0651\u064f\u0628\u0643\u064a<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It means: <strong>\u201cThe one who visits my grave has earned my intercession.\u201d<\/strong> This <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th is narrated by ad- D<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>ra<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">q<\/span>u<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">t<\/span>niyy and classified as \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>asan for other than itself\u201d (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>asan lighayrih).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The<strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">false<\/span><\/strong> claim of<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> <em>Ibn Taymiyah<\/em><\/strong><\/span> that it is forbidden for one to travel with the purpose of visiting the  grave of the prophet, is a matter that does not comply with the rules  of the religion.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ibn Taymiyah misinterpreted the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th of the Prophet, narrated by al-Bukh<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>riyy:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u0644\u0627 \u062a\u064f\u0634\u062f\u0651\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0631\u062d\u0627\u0644 \u0625\u0644\u0627 \u0625\u0644\u0649 \u062b\u0644\u0627\u062b\u0629 \u0645\u0633\u0627\u062c\u062f: \u0645\u0633\u062c\u062f\u064a \u0647\u0630\u0627\u060c \u0648\u0645\u0633\u062c\u062f \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0631\u0627\u0645\u060c \u0648\u0645\u0633\u062c\u062f \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0642\u0635\u0649<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Due to his<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong> ill <\/strong><\/span>understanding of this <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th, Ibn Taymiyah <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>claimed<\/strong><\/span> that it means that one is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span> allowed to travel except to those three mosques: the A<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">qsa<\/span> Mosque, the Prophet\u2019s Mosque, and the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">H<\/span>ar<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>m Mosque (in Makkah).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Based on that, he ruled that it is forbidden for one to travel to visit the grave of the Prophet. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ibn Taymiyah<\/strong><\/span>\u2019s claim <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">breached<\/span><\/strong> the consensus of all the scholars who preceded him.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>The correct meaning of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th is:<\/strong> \u201cOne ought not travel to a mosque with the purpose of praying in it,  except if one was travelling to one of these three mosques: the A<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">qsa<\/span> Mosque, the Prophet\u2019s Mosque, and the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">H<\/span>ar<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>m Mosque in Makkah.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This  is so because the reward of praying is multiplied in these three  mosques compared to the reward of praying in other mosques. This is a  merit specific for those three mosques and not for any other mosque.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What sheds clear light on the meaning of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th is another narration of the same <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th that explains the aforementioned one.<strong> Im<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>m Ahmad narrated that the Prophet explicitly said<\/strong>:  \u201cOne should not drive the animals in travelling towards a mosque with  the purpose of praying in it, with the exception of the three mosques,  the A<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">qsa<\/span> Mosque, the Prophet\u2019s Mosque, and the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">H<\/span>ar<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>m Mosque. This narration is very explicit in clarifying the meaning of the aforementioned <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th, and it is in compliance with the consensus of the nation, contrary to the false claim of Ibn Taymiyah.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Moreover the Prophet, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span>allall<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>hu ^alayhi wa sallam, said:<\/strong> \u201cProphet ^<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I<\/span>s<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span> (Jesus) shall come down from the (second) heaven to Earth and rule  Earth justly. Moreover, he will take a route between two mountains to  make <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">H<\/span>ajj or ^Umrah and come to my grave. He will say: As-Salamu^alaykum to me and I will respond to him.\u201d This <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th is narrated by al-<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ha<\/span>kim and Abu D<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>w<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">u<\/span>da<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">t<\/span>&#8211;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">T<\/span>ay<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>lisiyy. Al <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ha<\/span>kim, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ha<\/span>fi<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">dh<\/span> adh-Dhahabiyy, and others classified it as a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span>a<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">hih<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">h<\/span>ad<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">i<\/span>th proves that travelling to visit the grave of the Prophet, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span>allall<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>hu ^alayhi wa sallam, is not sinful. On the contrary, this is what Prophet ^<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I<\/span>s<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span> will do. By this, it is very clear that no weight should be given to the deviated claim of Ibn Taymiyah.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> <strong>When one gets into the Prophet\u2019s Mosque, one makes two optional rak^ahs to salute the Mosque.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Then,  one stands politely facing the grave of the Prophet about four (4)  cubits away from the wall, lowering one\u2019s gaze and filling one\u2019s heart  with love and respect for the Prophet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Then, one says with a medium voice: As-Sal<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>mu^alayka y<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span> Ras<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">u<\/span>lall<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h; as-sal<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>mu^alayka y<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span> Nabiyyall<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h, and the like. Then, one makes a<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span>&#8211;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span>al<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h ^alan-Nabiyy. <br \/> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, one goes about one cubit to the right and says as-sal<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>mu ^alayka y<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span> Ab<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span> Bakrini<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">s<\/span>&#8211;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">S<\/span>idd<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">iq<\/span>, then one more cubit to the right and says as-sal<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>mu ^alayka y<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span> ^Umaral-F<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>r<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">uq<\/span>. <strong><br \/> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Then one goes to where one first stood and makes du^<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>\u2019 asking All<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h by the Prophet.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>One faces the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Q<\/span>iblah and makes du^<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>\u2019 for oneself and for whomever one wishes. If anyone requested of one to convey one\u2019s sal<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>m to the Prophet, one says: O Prophet of All<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>h, so and so gives you sal<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">a<\/span>m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finally,  we praise Allah the lord of the worlds.
