Knowledge is the gateway to successs

Islamic Obligatory Knowledge is the knowledge that every accountable person is obligated to know. "The person whom Allah willed to grant goodness, Allah makes him knowledgeable about the Religion.” (Al-Bukhariyy). It includes the knowledge of Islamic Belief, cases of Islamic Law about Purification, Prayer, Fasting and the like. It also includes knowledge of the rules pertaining to dealings and contracts. One has also to learn the Obligatory Knowledge about the sins of the heart and body organs like the tongue, stomach, hands, private parts and the like.

Knowledge is the gateway to success in the hereafter. Allah said in Surat al-Mujadilah, Ayah 11: which means: [Allah raises the ranks of those among you who believe and those who were granted the knowledge.] In Surat Fatir, Ayah 28, Allah said: which means: [Those who have the knowledge fear Allah the most.] The prohet of Allah also in praising the Islamic knoweldge said what means: <<Allah facilitates a route to Paradise for the one who follows a certain route seeking the knowledge of the Religion.>> From that hadith, some scholars understood one leaves ones place to seek the knowledge, that is, one goes to the people of knowledge to pursue it and not simply to read a book on one's own.
